We have developed a very robust chain count sensor system that can be installed with new and existing horizontal windlass.
Installation is very straightforward, and involves drilling a small hole for a magnet in one tooth of the gypsy, and also drilling a 12mm hole in the deck.
The sensor comprises a 120mm long A4 stainless steel M12 bolt, that has been machined to accept the sensor itself. The height of the sensor is adjusted using nuts on either side of the deck, to bring the sensor in close proximity to the magnet in the gypsy.
The system comprises the mechanical hardware, a selection of magnets, the sensor itself, and a waterproof in-line junction box.
